4-H Flock of Friends Project

The mission of the 4-H Flock of Friends Project (formerly known as the Special Lamb Project) is to make the 4-H market lamb project available to all children regardless of their abilities. To do so, we partner the Flock of Friends Project exhibitor with a 4-H or FFA youth who will assist them with their lamb project. Together the pair shares responsibilities of caring and feeding the lamb from May through July and then works together at the Cabell County Fair to show and sell the lamb.
4-H Flock of Friends

Each member of the team receives part of the proceeds for the sale of the lamb and a free non-riding pass for the exhibitor and their parent to attend the Cabell County Fair. The project lamb, feed, and medical expenses are covered by the Flock of Friends Project funds. This program is unique in that it offers realistic experiences for youth to develop their physical and cognitive potentials. It also provides an opportunity for the partners to build lifelong friendships.
