Cabell County 4-H Camp Online Camp Counselor Training


The purpose of this training is to educate 4-H Camp Counselors on the policies and procedures for Cabell County 4-H Camping program and to help Camp Counselors be successful.

Online Training Requirements

This online training is designed for both Adult Camp Counselors and Teen Camp Counselors. Carefully read through the sections depending on your role and complete the corresponding quiz.

Teen Camp Counselors

Teens serving in a volunteer capacity at either Younger Camp or Cloverbud Day Camp must read the following topics (see right):

Topic 1: Camp Mission & Job Expectations
Topic 2: Camp Rules & Policies
Topic 3: Camp is for the Camper
Topic 4: Risk Management

Teen Camp Counselors do not need to read the section on Duty to Inform, found in Topic 2 or Topic 5: Essential Elements of Youth Development. After you read these materials, take the quiz and mail/email to Autumn at the Extension Office. All individuals must receive a score of 90% or better. You must complete your quiz and have it turned in to Autumn no later than Thursday April 20, 2017.

Adult Camp Counselors

Staff Meeting at 4-H Camp

At Older Camp, all staff are required to attend the staff meeting set for Sunday June 4 at 5:00 p.m. at the Cabell County Extension Office (dinner will be provided at 4:30 p.m.). We will review many of these training topics and go over other relevant information pertaining to camp.

At Younger Camp, all staff – adult volunteers and teen camp counselors – are required to attend the staff meeting set for Sunday June 11 at 5:00 p.m. at the Cabell County Extension Office (dinner will be provided at 4:30 p.m.). We will review many of these training topics and go over other relevant information pertaining to camp.

For Cloverbud Day Camp, staff will meet at Cabell County 4-H Camp on June19 at 7:30 a.m. We will review many of these training topics and go over other relevant information pertaining to camp.
